ABOUT US

Welcome to the website of Gentle Power Kennel.

We are Els and Kurt, living in Neeroeteren, in rural (Belgian) Limburg.

For me, the story started in 1995 with the adoption of a neglected Bull Terrier 'Spike'. One is one alone so a second companion soon followed, my first Amstaff 'Kisha'. In 2001 I had to say goodbye to Spike. Kisha reached the blessed age of 16. That day in April 2011, I vowed never getting another dog. However, just two days later another Amstaff (Crush) showed up at our door. In 2012 I adopted Jara and in 2013 Sky followed, both from a Belgian kennel.

For Els, the story started in 2006 with Yula. Just like me, a second Amstaff, Zarko followed soon.

In 2014 our two stories merged by taking over both an Amstaff (Jaro and Missy) from a kennel that stopped its activities with the Amstaffs.

Not only we were both bitten by the Amstaff virus, but also showing and training became an important part of our lives. In 2015, Radja and Ace, two show dogs, joined the pack. Shortly afterwards we became a couple.

In 2016 we felt ready to breed a litter of our own and started thinking about setting up our own kennel.
So we first had to look for a suitable name for our kennel. In the General Impression of the breed standard there are two words that we consider to be leading for the breed, namely 'graceful' and 'strength'. However, both words combined did not appeal and we looked for two suitable synonyms, namely Gentle (in the meaning of noble) and Power, Gentle Power was born.

In 2017, the first 'Gentle Power' puppies were born.
